The Crocodile BC is trimmed with a genuine Australian salt water crocodile hat band and teeth. The Crocodile is obtained by approved farms with managment programs to ensure the groth of this amazing species.

Conservation values are often biased towards mammals such as kangaroos and koalas, because they are endearing, attractive, and cuddly animals. In contrast, most people associate fear with crocodiles and their draw as a tourist attraction comes more from a perverse curiosity, or schadenfreude, than from affection. Public perceptions of the conservation values of crocodiles in the wild are similarly limited and thus management tools are needed which will ensure their survival in their own native habitat.
The number of crocodiles maintained on farms represents a significant percentage of the estimated wild population. This is conservation “insurance” for the survival of the species. Similarly, mortality at egg stage is very high in the wild, with most deaths being the result of drowning, as nests are flooded, with predation having a secondary impact.
Farms also house a large number of “problem” crocodiles that would otherwise have been shot. Crocodile farming has enhanced public education and the promotion of scientific research on demography, biology, and habitat requirements. The sustainability of the industry has created commercial and other incentives to conserve both the crocodiles and the wetland habitats they occupy, and therefore conserving other plant and animal ecosystem occupants, or conservation in general. Recognising the value of crocodiles as a renewable, natural resource, commonly referred to as the use it or lose it strategy, is one of the most powerful tools that can be used for their conservation.
