Made in Byron Bay, Australia at the BC hats factory. This is probably the best outdoor hat ever made! A big call yes, but its true. Made from waterproof canvas and features a coiled spring wire in the brim so this hat can be crushed and will pop back out to its original shape. This hat has been run over by trucks, chewed on by a horse, fell overboard and found on the bottom looking just fine (It does not float). Made to be used and still looks good! Has a cool mesh crown and real leather hat band and cotton chin cord. Brim size 3".

It only took three days to receive the hat after ordering it, and I live on the opposite side of the country. Thank you Adventure Hats and USPS! The hat was packaged securely in a large box. The description of the hat on the website is accurate, as are the photos. Workmanship seems good. I should note that the leather hat band seems to be attached to the hat with hot melt glue. I'm a hat novice, so maybe that's standard practice with hats in this price range. In any case, the glue isn't visible unless you live up the edge of the band. My size is 22 1/2 inches, right between Medium and Large. I ordered the Large because I thought it would be better to have the hat slightly large than too small. Sure enough, the hat is slightly large. I put a foam strip between the sweat band and the inside of the crown, and now it fits perfectly. I like the style of the hat. It's typical Aussie outback style with the drooping front and rear brim, as shown in the photo. I wanted a wide brim hat (but not too wide) that didn't look "too cowboy" and this hat fits the bill. The hat is indeed collapsible. The hat can be folded or rolled up. When unfolded, the wire spring in the brim springs back to the original shape. The mesh material, which looks to be vinyl, has kind of a memory, too, but it can be shaped somewhat. I tested the hat today on a one hour walk in the California sun. The ventilation of the mesh was immediately noticeable and appreciated! Any little breeze is clearly felt. It's much more comfortable than my previous, unventilated canvas hat. I'm happy I didn't order a leather or or felt hat! I am giving the hat a 4-star rating, because I cannot assess the longevity. I'm a little concerned about the life of the vinyl mesh. Only time will tell if it holds up. If I'm still happy with the hat in a few years, I'll report back here!
